Al joined Softcat in 2005 as an Account Manager on their graduate scheme, after studying Business and IT at uni in Southampton, which also included a year placement at IBM. He spent nine successful years in sales and made the move from Sales Manager to a senior leadership position in 2014. Today he is Softcat’s Operations Manager and his key responsibilities include supply chain management, procurement, commercials, and customer services. Al also has responsibility for customer segmentation in sales operations, a function he has managed for several years to maintain and fuel company growth.

Al has experienced and contributed to Softcat’s amazing growth, and has worked with their fantastic leaders including Peter Kelly, Martin Hellawell, Graeme Watt and Colin Brown. People and culture have always been key to Softcat’s success and Al is an example of someone who has grown and developed within the business.

Al lives on the South Coast with his wife and two young children and enjoys sport, film, food and travel in his spare time.
