
Mark Dempsey is HP Sustainability Manager for the UK and Ireland helping to lead HP’s sustainability programmes and working in partnership with customers to deliver positive sustainable impact. Mark is also our Global WEEE policy lead for HP. Mark has previously worked as European Environmental Policy Advisor for Hewlett Packard and Manager of the Parliamentary Sustainable Waste Group at Westminster. Mark authored a parliamentary research report on Producer Responsibility, led a think tank developing proposals for UK WEEE implementation, and has led HP’s WEEE policy work in Brussels and Westminster. Mark has also spoken at conferences in China, India, Brazil and Australia on EPR. Mark has previously worked as Development Officer for the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and advised the Australian Government on Product Stewardship. Mark has gained detailed knowledge of the Extended Producer Responsibility, the Circular Economy, resource efficiency, and environmental management for businesses; and has extensive experience of leading policy engagement in Westminster and Brussels. Mark has a degree in Geography and a Masters in Environmental Policy and Management and is a member of the CIWM and a Fellow of IEMA.
